Greetings all,

 

Attached is a copy of a joint statement by Bishop Vann, Bishop Farrell and the two Dallas auxiliary bishops objecting to the recent ruling by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services requiring religious organizations to provide health insurance that pays for sterilizations, contraceptives and abortion-inducing drugs.

 

Please read it and share it. This HHS mandate must be overturned. See: www.usccb.org/news/2012/12-012.cfm.

A first step is to continue to urge Members of Congress to co-sponsor the Respect for Rights of Conscience Act (H.R. 1179, S. 1467). This measure will ensure that those who participate in the health care system "retain the right to provide, purchase, or enroll in health coverage that is consistent with their religious beliefs and moral convictions."
